I was scrolling through my youtube favourites, and i came across this. The first video of the first live performance i've watched of the first band that brought me into k-pop. And it's still the best i've heard and seen yet. I cried twice, first during 2.20-2.42, and second during 3.50-4.25 then actually pretty much past the end of the song. Junsu's voiceT_T (If you decide you don't wanna die with regrets and you're gonna listen to this, do it the first time watching the video, the second time with your eyes closed. And use your earphones. That's the least of the justice you could do it(: ) Random youtuber: "People on my side of the world have lost the idea of talented singers. It's all Justin Bieber, Kesha, Drake, Lil Wayne etc. People who have either some, little or no talent. I'm really missing TVXQ. We'll always support them, even if some of the population forgets them." They are called Rising Gods of The East for a reason(: I promise from today onwards everytime i sing on stage i'll have the words '동방신기 Always keep the faith' written on the inside of my hand. I promise.
I've loved, respected, and looked up to many singers, many musicians, but i've never really idolized them. Well if this is what it feels like to be a fan, to be unexplainably proud of a group of people you don't even know, to ache to imagine you'll never be able to watch them sing altogether again, to want everyone else to get to know them and come to love them like you did, then i guess, i am a dbsk fan. And im proud to be one. Sigh... I think to a lot of people they never left. Because of the kind of music they gave us, the kind of which the live performance was infinitely better than the recorded, the kind that could bring tears on even if you had no idea what the lyrics were about (YET), the kind you could literally feel them pouring their souls into like that lived for it and only it such that for those few minutes, the singers and the audience were one single entity bound by the intensity of the song. The kind that makes me think: if everyone could understand music, i have faith the world would know peace. Cause music like this can really melt the most frozen beings, remind them of the purest human emotions they've left somewhere forgotten. I've never seen another pop band reaching that, besides westlife. My two musical heroes♥ The closest we have now is 2am, and they are totally under-appreciated. Thank you dbsk, now i remember the other reason why i need to fulfill my dreams - because i don't want to let this kind of music die.
