thanksgiving and the lake district...

Nov 26, 2005 17:23

thursday was thanksgiving and it went exceptionally well! my flatmates and i cooked all day and were later joined by fellow biolans who had also cooked delicious dishes with their flatmates. what a feast! turkey, stuffing, potatoes, mashed potatoes, corn, salad, rolls, desserts, etc. SCRUMPTIOUS... it was simply perfect. i'll try to put some photos up soon.

friday i met w/ kathy early at 6 am and we headed off to barnes to catch a train to waterloo and from there we took the underground to euston and took a train to the lake district where we had to take an express train that took us to our actual destination. we must have finally arrived there about 1 o'clock and had a great time going to Rydal House & Gardens as well as Rydal Waters. Rydal House for those of you who were as clueless as me was the home of William Wordsworth, the reknowned poet. Talk about BEAUTIFUL - the lake district... i'd definitely love to go there again if time permitted... oh and after our freezing time at the lake (boy was it cold!) we stopped at a cute little pub which was decorated w/ all sorts of badgers... it was called the "badgers inn" :-D so cute! and with a roaring fire... so warm and toasty :-D

more details later... now i'm off to a pizza party for my connect group.

cheers

jason
