Ohio: where the kids are fair game, by God

Aug 03, 2006 10:28

An Ohio man charged with rape and paedophilia claims that sex with boys is part of his religion.

Oh, for the love of... well, better not finish THAT sentence, eh?

Look. I'm not someone who thinks that every person under the age of 18 (or 16 or whatever is the arbitrarily-chosen cut-off age in your area) is incapable of making an informed decision and thus cannot provide consent to sexual relations. I believe there are people who classified as "underage" who are in fact more emotionally mature than many of the people around them who are allowed to drink, smoke, vote and have sex legally merely by dint of a chronologically earlier birth date. These people are perhaps languishing or being punished unfairly, yes. To the best of my knowledge (and please tell me if I'm wrong), there is no psychological evaluation available that could determine a person's emotional maturity and thus present a legally-acceptable argument for making that person an adult, again in the eyes of the law.* Barring the ability to offer such a test in a widespread, efficient manner and connect it to a "maturity license" or other such status qualification, an arbitrary cut-off date is the only broadly applicable solution left.

That being said? Mr. Rapist claiming sacred right? Mr. "you just think sex with kids is wrong because you think kids can't give consent" Paedophile?

It's a damn sure bet that if a kid can't even tell people what's been done to him, then he couldn't have provided consent for you to have SEX WITH HIM! Freaking perverted idiot, if you're going out of your way to use this argument of sacred acts and consent-giving kids, try avoiding sticking your dick inside kids who can't even communicate their own fucking NAMES, maybe?

Idiot.

* I am aware that there are circumstances where a child can be emancipated, usually in an attempt to remove himself from the legal guardianship of his parents due to neglect, abuse, or other such reasons. However, this is done on a case-by-case basis. To my knowledge, there is no tidemark established that could be used on societal level. Also, in most states emancipated kids are often required to have a legal guardian on file and still aren't considered "adults" under the law. They simply have had their relationship with former legal guardians abolished.

law, idiots
