Clearly a few remain, at least. If we are going to grace me with the title, as well, then I must admit to having moved, but that wasn't a question of intelligence or even of being Georgian. I was only technically moving out of Georgia; in point of fact, it was the metaphysical pocket dimension of Chattanooga, on the northern border with Tennessee, from which I made my escape.
lol my dad was georgian and a good bit of my family on his side is, i was born in alabama but raised here in texas. I've never sat down and had a deep discussion with my extended family so i don't know where they sit on these kinds of things, but if it's anything like my dad then there are still a few left in georgia still =)
Now, it's been a fairly long time since I last saw an episode of Designing Women. To the best of my recollection, however, I would call the characters of the show a fairly representative slice of Georgian women. Now, I do remember that they brought in Julia Duffy to fill the void left when Delta Burke left. Ms. Duffy's character was a Yankee and, Gods bless the writers, presented her as a Yankee stereotype viewed through a Southern lens, so she fulfilled all the worst traits of that stereotype. Of the Southern women, though, again, though stereotypical, they were still an accurate representation of the qualities that have made Georgians archetypal Southerners, both the good and the bad.
On a less analytical note, I knew a fair few Southern ladies just like Miz Julia, who was always my favorite. ;)
