Why are you striving these days?

It’s absolutely lovely waking up only to find a thunderstorm raging outside your window - only if you didn’t have to be up for work or school. With all the storms these days, waking up is harder to do. Quite dreadful, really.

What’s sickening is how sticky the weather can be despite the showers. Yech.. Some days I seriously think about how if Singapore had more agreeable weather, would I still be so grouchy here?

After the storms come blindingly scorching days, such as in the photo above. I hate those with a passion. The photo was shot on my iPhone, with minimal editing. So that’s what happens when you point the iPhone camera directly at the sun.

Today Jessica remarked that I’ve been slacking off this year, and I laughed but I know it’s true. I can’t seem to find a burning motivation to strive and push myself further, and it’s annoying me. I know I shouldn’t be pushing myself merely for grades but it really is disheartening to go nuts with work and see results that don’t necessarily reflect it, especially when you know that so many others have gotten by with similar grades whilst slacking off all the time. Sigh.

I know it’s horrible, and I’m trying to get over this silly mopey state I’ve been in with regards to school work. I’m still rather stressed out though, mostly because I’m stumped for ideas. That stresses me out the most, as opposed to having to complete a ton of work, because seriously, how do you move forward when all your ideas mock you?

Having things to purchase but not being sure where the money is going to come from is bumming me out. Right now I need to get an external flash, and a proper camera bag that aids in changing lenses whilst out shooting rather than merely transporting.

Anyone wanna hire me during the year-end break? I’m free for over a month, and I do photography, graphic design and waitressing. HAHA. I’m serious, by the way.
