Seeing lavender bushes in bloom was a gorgeous sight in Northampton (not so much in London cos the lavender there were all dull purples!)
Even more gorgeous was the smell the plant left on your hand if you plucked one and just held it. I was blown away by how wonderful it smelt - like the lavender soap you get in departmental stores, only 1000000x nicer!
My granduncle plucked a bunch from the garden outside his apartment to put into a cloth pouch to help him sleep at night! I wish I had that right now.. Pretty sure it’d help me go to bed smiling
