the day pretty much made up for the strange night that once was. but it was freezing cold! my fingers felt as if they were about to fall off. lesson learned: when in doubt, bring gloves and scarves. screw worrying about overpacking.

(before anything else, did you go through part one?)

speaking of the cold, jayce said he brought the ultimate defense against freezing temperatures -- chapstick. i seriously don't get how a single stick of lip balm can make you feel warmer, hahaha.

we headed off to a nearby restaurant for breakfast. total upgrade from 7-11!

the breakfast menu. i should probably submit this to engrish, yes?

but the food was pretty good, and cheap as well! i got a nice warm mug of milk tea and some really filling beef brisket with vegetables for just around HKD$37.

jayce left the table to get his camera, and so bea ended up eating his order by mistake. jayce kept on calling it "ba-ked" rice 'stead of "baked." lol forever, i can't even.

afterwards we went around a bit to our hotel shuttle, and passed by this jewelry store with blood-red window displays on the way. bea found the pig necklace adorable :)

we went to fisherman's wharf first. the weather was incredibly dreary and cold.

but hey, nothing can stop us from having a good time, yeah? :)

i've no idea what this structure is (if someone can fill me in on it, that would be awesome) but the architecture was beautiful! a really great contrast to the cheesy and over-the-top casinos within the area, methinks.

they were selling these nearby. fish balls with curry, i think? didn't get the chance to try them, but they looked insanely delicious.

more pretty buildings! (i was killing myself at this point because i didn't bring my wide lens for fear of losing it.) they must've been shops or something, but they were closed and so we didn't get the chance to explore them. the giant artificial rock jutting out behind them is volcania -- supposedly an underground entertainment center.

volcania was massive! too bad it was also closed. we wanted to go inside and play some arcade games.

right next to it was also an entertainment center of sorts. i think they called it the "underground" or something. again, it was also closed, and so we had to settle for a photo right outside. the steampunk designs were pretty cool :) reminded me of the "doctor who" episode "the girl in the fireplace"! i bet the inside looked just as awesome.

an upcoming attraction that was still under construction. i forgot what it was called, heh.

it was a mayan temple sorta thing, and flanking it were these two elevated snake statues. i really wanted a picture with the snake but i was too short to actually climb up, and so i had to use jayce's back as a footstool. hahaha. sorry, bro :D jellie didn't have much of a hard time though.

jayce was crazy enough to actually climb on the snakes while the guards weren't looking, but he was caught eventually, hahaha!

one of the best parts of fisherman's wharf was this faux-liseum! too bad it was also closed. i'm guessing they usually stage performances at nighttime.

as usual, jech felt the need to prove he was the alpha male!

across the amphitheater was a better view of the bridge.

as well as these really awesome-looking restaurants and establishments :) i loved the architecture! it felt like london or something. again, i was killing myself for not bringing my wide lens along. le sighhh.

we went window shopping for a while. apparently, animal print is in season.

jayce then went straight to gambling at babylon casino. (i was surprised casinos opened that early, tbqh.) everyone was allowed to enter straight away but i had to be ID'ed -- i'm 20 but i look 14, probably. i'm sorry, but i really can't help but drink from the fountain of eternal youth :))

anyways, he bet HK$20 at slot machines, while we all became his personal cheerleaders. he ended up cashing out HK$22.50, then felt like a high-stakes gambler afterwards. err, i bet the money changers were wondering why he would cash in something so small in the first place. hahaha.

part three coming soon! :D
