it's like i've waited my whole life, for that one night

May 02, 2008 00:40

hello! sorry i haven't posted in awhile. :P anyway, new header and new FO banner, have a look plzkthx? :)

i'm not going to scream about our 1-0 win over Barca, though i am extremely pleased with that. Scholesy' goal was a classic and left me gaping at 3am. i was actually falling asleep before the goal because i made the stupid decision to stay up instead of going to sleep and waking up for the match. however, i woke up completely after the goal, though i fell asleep again somewhere in the 2nd half! but i woke up again for the last 20 minutes or so and spent it having serious palpitations (no kidding) and texting yongjun in a frenzy. i think we were slightly high. XD the last 5 minutes of the game was pure agony. i almost passed out with fright watching Barca attack like crazy and United just defending. that said, i was very proud of our defence! it was so good on tuesday night. <3 however, Barca have now taken out Evra (what, are they in cahoots with Chelsea to deplete our defence?!) and that worries me. :( my mom happened to see the highlights on telly the day after and laughed at Fergie's celebratory half-dance. XD he's sooo kute. anyway, that means we get to go to Moscow (lol, reminds me of Moskau - go look it up on youtube if you want a laugh), albeit against Chelsea. >_< i was hoping for a United-Pool CL final. sorry to my Pool and Barca flisters. :/
sooo, what's been up with me? not much actually. :P

tuesday - Operation Baguette et al.
je suis très fatigué. *collapses* okay, i was when i wrote that. but not that much anymore. :P

did quite a lot of walking/standing on tuesday, oddly.

went to SGH to see my aunt before heading to school for Prof's farewell party. we were told to turn up at 10.30am so that we could surprise him when he walked him. i stepped into CR5-1 and there was slight chaos in progress. there was bad 80s music playing, people were blowing balloons and hanging crepe paper streamers - in red, white and blue because the theme of the party was French. Prof likes to make French jokes in class and he always talks about baguettes, so of course we had to order baguettes for the party. XD at 11.10am they sent a bunch of people down to Prof's office because he thought they wanted to meet him to discuss their degree majors - as if people would be thinking of this 1.5 weeks after exams have ended. -.- he's so guillible.

so while they were luring him up to the CR, the rest of us tried to decide what to shout when he walked in. i was fine with the usual "surprise!" but Stuart (and the econs students) thought it would be funny to shout "SUPPLIES! AND DEMANDS!" *faints* i think we were all high even before the party. and we made a heck lot of noise despite the conferences and whatnot going on on the same floor. XD so Prof entered the room and Eddie threw a bunch of streamers and balloons on him and he was all O_____________________O, which was quite amusing. if you wanna see photos Joan's uploaded them on Facebook. i'm tagged in 3 of them and i look particularly unglamourous in one of them because someone (and i have no idea who) took a photo of me while i was busy stuffing my face with food. >_>

anyfork, the food was pretty nice. we had Freedom Fries, Marxist Madeleines, Bourgeoisie Baguettes, Egalitarian Eclairs and Communist Chocolate Cake. XD very political indeed. then someone went to buy wine and a lot of people got high. by high i mean some people sitting in a corner belting out songs like they were at a karaoke bar or something. lol. and Prof became lamer than usual. O_o the guys suggested taupok-ing Prof but i'm quite sure they would go to jail for assault or something. after awhile Ruthie had to go off so we went to see if we could go get free cones from B&J's. unfortunately, the queue was 2 floors thick, so we gave up. :(
trooped off to Kino to look for some book Dad wanted and walked around the business section 4 times before i finally found it tucked away in a lonely corner right at the bottom of an obscure shelf. -.- then i spent some time browsing through the fiction section and looking at lovely stationery (nope, my love for stationery has not faded, my secondary school friends), which was quite a pleasant way to spent the afternoon, actually. sometimes you just need to be alone, lost in your own world, not knowing or caring about whatever exists outside, oui?

wednesday - nerd day
hopped off to the library with grandma while mom went to get some physic guidebook for my brother (how i remember those days...) and picked up 3 books.
- Milkrun by Sarah Mlynowski
- All the Names by José Saramago
- The Wall by Jean-Paul Sartre
Milkrun is chick lit with some slightly NC16 stuff thrown in because the main character, Jackie Norris, is a copy writer for a romance novel publisher, so she often quotes from the books that she edits. XD definitely not suitable for young teenagers. it's a hoot though, the way Mlynowski lets us into Jackie's (deranged?) mind, after she's been dumped by her bf and tries to bounce back.
All the Names and The Wall appear to be something along the lines of psycho-thrillers, according to their blurbs. i was looking for Saramago books (i actually wanted Blindness, since it's coming out as a movie later this year, but it wasn't available) and this looked the most interesting out of the few left on the shelf, and Sartre happened to be next to Saramago, so i got that as well. apparently Sartre was "the leading exponent of existentialism in France", which therefore forms the basis of most of his books. it sounds quite exciting. i hope it is. 8D

today...
i bummed around. as usual. i wanted to exercise but of course my strong willpower to laze around triumphed. TOMORROW. tomorrow i shall attempt to stop being a slob and lose weight. although i also have plans to bake cupcakes, which kind of defeats the purpose, doesn't it. >_>

did anyone catch the AMI7 results show today? it was rather entertaining. Simon's first kiss called up, and of course hilarity ensued. she asked him if kissing her or Paula was better. Simon was quite horrified, i think. XD although i think i was more horrified to find out that he was 9 when he had his first kiss. i'm 19 and i haven't had mine. ;_; ayam a loser. i actually quite liked Neil Diamond's performance. the bit where he inserted a cool, sort of relaxed Latin beat into the song was nice. Natasha Bedingfield sang too, though she has no relevance to the competition altogether. O_o she was funny though. after she sang she ran over to the contestants on the couch and kissed David A! LOL. he was so freaked out/embarrassed. XD and of course all his fangirls screamed. i guess she just finds him adorable, like i do. she agreed to go to prom with him too. XD highly amusing stuff. sadly, Brooke went home. :( i'm sure she'll go on to better things. her voice is quite unique and her personality is likeable too. gah. where is Lix when i need to fangirl about AMI?! oh right. still in Melbourne. T_T
omg. i've typed like a few novels' worth of nonsense here already. XD i shall stop rambling then. i leave you with this picture of Bojan and Fran which Jane showed me...

aren't they kute? :D when they grow up and play for the NT, they're going to be slashed together. i just know it. -.- but for now, i can still admire them as the kutest baby!spaniards in the U-whatever teams. :)
