the first week of the new year has gone. work's been... okay i guess. freaked out on weds cos i forgot to put on deodorant before leaving the house and i was paranoid about smelling bad the whole day. :( arrived at work to find... no one in the office. this nice lady Justina discovered me and sat me down, but she didn't know what i was supposed to do, so i helped her to look through title searches and label files until Henry arrived. Mr Henry Hoe is jacq's dad's partner in the firm, and Mr Alfonso Ang is the 3rd partner. they shall henceforth be known as HH and AA. XD AA's a really nice person. he doesn't know who i am but it was pouring like crazy yesterday and he asked me if i had a brolly to go home with. aww. jacq's dad is really funny too. i ALWAYS meet him when he's going to the toilet, and he makes it a point to wave excitedly at me. LOLOLOLOL. anyway, so HH arrived and taped me to Sharon, who taped me to Sarah. Sharon's one of the lawyers in the firm and she together with Gurmeet do the credit card stuff. Sarah's a i dont know what her position is but she's my best friend in the company so far haha. she's very nice and she doesn't think i'm stupid. big plus. this girl Crystal was on leave so i got to use her desk. i filed stuff in the morning and was introduced to dunning in the afternoon. what on earth is dunning, you ask. it means calling up debtors to ask if they've paid their debts, or to ask them how they intend to pay it. 60% of them give you fake phone numbers or don't answer, 30% are okay and responsible, and 10% are plain idiotic. srsly. you'll headdesk talking to them.
did dunning from then till today, which is hopefully my last day of dunning. Gurmeet prolly thinks i'm very stupid already. yesterday i got thrown into an abandoned office with no technologically advanced equipment. typewriters. SRSLY. and a phone to do my thing. boo. it's freaking cold in there too. :(
today was more exciting. this Malay girl/lady(? she looks young but she's married) decided to take me and Stupid Boy to do a completion, which is like exchanging documents and cheques by hand. her name's Nui or something. it's pronounced No i THINK. so cute. anyway, while we were crossing the road outside UOB Plaza (which is uber huge and has a gorgeous view of Clarke Quay), SHE HELD MY HAND TO CROSS THE ROAD. LMAO. i was trying so hard not to giggle. then in the afternoon i was too efficient and by 3+ i was strolling around the office with nothing to do. i honestly walked one round around the office looking for something to do. LOL.
well, HH said that i will go and help out at Conveyancing from monday onwards, so that should be more exciting. no more dunning! Stephanie already taught me how to do a title search and how to fill out a caveat form on weds, so yaye. (i don't know what a caveat is either, lol.)
