still deciding whether to switch or not but in the meantime, i'll just post here first...

so on saturday my brother discovered that the ceiling outside our front door was dripping water. we inspected the ceiling and bah, there was a pretty obvious crack and stalactites were forming. okay, i kid about the stalactites. but it was quite bad. it's really expensive to call the plumber for help on weekends so mom and dad decided we were gonna wait it out till monday. so for the past 2 days we have been living like we're on water rationing. the main pipe has to be turned off at all times except well, when we really need to use water. we had to all shower at the same time (thank you for buying a house with multiple bathrooms dad) and more ridiculously, pee at the same time (lol). dad went all paranoid and filled up almost every pot in the house with water for washing hands etc. we still have 2.5 pots of water left atm. O_o

anyway, i took the morning off so i could wait for the plumber. he came by and said we'll need to hack a hole in the ceiling to replace the part of the pipe that's leaking. IT'S SO EXPENSIVEEEEEEEEEEE. guess the family will have to live on rice and taugeh for the next few months. :(

this is gonna sound cliched but being on water rationing for the past 2 days has made me realise how much we take running water for granted. and i think we've used a lot less water. maybe we should do this permanently? :X

i know it's kinda early but i'm stumped trying to figure out what to do for christmas. by do, i mean... like gifts and cards. i made cards by hand last year and tbh, while it was fun, it was tiring. maybe i'll go for something simpler this year. idk. i'll have to go to a paper craft store and see what ~inspires~ me.

the other thing i'm at a loss with is what to give the people in the office. is it lame if i bake something instead of buying non-edible gifts? it's just that buying gifts will take a toll on my wallet and let's face it, i am at the bottom of the food chain so i don't earn much. and i'm also trying to be more frugal after buying a laptop (still no name!!!) and paying for SMTOWN tix (my life will be complete on 23 Nov)... and i do want to go on a nice longish trip next year somewhere. Scoot is offering very reasonable rates to go to Tokyo and PL did mention wanting to "chase the sakuras"... i have this secret idea to initiate a grad trip pt II - Japan + Korea (not just Seoul, somewhere with pretty scenery like Gangwondo or Jeonju maybe) but again idk if my friends will be receptive to the idea.

so you working people - what do you guys do for xmas? is there a minimum standard when it comes to gift-giving? /lost
