Since some have wondered...
The terrorist actions in Norway happened in an entirely different part of the country than I'm in right now, and as far as I know, nobody I know has been directly affected.
Today we went to Lofoten, poking around an area 2 1/2-3 hours' drive from here. It was a really nice trip on the whole. Got to see areas I hadn't seen before, stuff I hadn't seen since grade school. Playing tourist near where I grew up. Lofoten's really a beautiful area.
Of course, as we heard about the bomb at the turning point, and more details were slowly revealed through the radio, the drive back was mostly spent in silence listening to the news.
This is the first time Norway's experienced something like this. And as indefensible as any terrorist act is, this one's particularly evil. The people responsible for this not only killed kids, but outright TARGETED kids in the island shooting.
Thank goodness they were incompetent enough to do the bombing in the middle of the holiday season, after work hours. This could've been so much worse than it already was.
