Stupid PC DVD player
My PC's DVD/CD player has been acting up lately. When I try to rip music CDs, it'll simply decide to stop spinning, go *whirr-whirr*, and then... pretty much keep doing that, occasionally actually working. This would be simply annoying if it wasn't for the fact that it doesn't TELL my ripping program that it's not working, and so the ripping program just rips several minutes of silence.
Anyone have any experience with this? If there's something I can do to fix it, or if I should just yank the thing out and get a new one to put in my computer?
