This is a short post rant. So I'm not going to go too much into the whitewashing of Korra, especially when I can't do nearly as good a job as korraisnottan or damnlayoffthebleach at tumblr. I just wanna say: why the fuck is Korra portrayed so wide-eyed and in all these ooey-gooey romantic shippy couple poses? Why is she skinny and nauseatingly over-the-top adorable? Korra is fucking buff, and her character isn't a cutesy school girl with her first crush. I can't browse the #korra tag on tumblr without wondering "Is the 'romance' all people get from A:TLOK and A:TLA?" two amazing, beautiful, wonderfully crafted shows. As a rather aromantic person, I get nothing out of this. (Well, not entirely true--my eyes are getting a fantastic workout from all the eye-rolling they're doing.) I just want to see some fanart of a brown-skinned Korra being her canonical, muscle-y bad-ass polar bear-dog-riding self. Not someone who looks like a white middle-school girl making kissy faces at a cartoon character. I want something that actually reflects the show. Is that too much to ask?
