senior year... can be predicted by a linear equation!

Sep 05, 2009 18:12

eeeeeeeeeeewwwwwwwwwww math nerdiness. hee hee okay, so: freshman year sucked, sophormore year was eh so-so, junior year was fun... it's a linear equation, and senior year looks like it's going to follow and be the best year yet. (but it's still school.)

i've been in school for two weeks now (which is only like a week of each class because of block scheduling, but whatever), so i feel like i can talk about my classes confidently and correctly. (last year, i believe i predicted i would love my photo class--i hated it with every fiber of my being.)

so block scheduling. i thought i would hate it, but it's not that bad. yes, i loathe the double homework (i didn't do my homework this weekend when i was in san francisco--let me say, i will never make that mistake again. two night of double homework...i was up until nine o'clock at night doing homework on the first day of the second week of school, and i didn't even really finish), but since i really like all my classes, i don't mind the extended periods. plus, since i'm only taking five classes, every other day i get to go home at 11:45 :D me likey. (though the school did do this retarded sechedule where we have no day where we go to all our classes--it's mon/wed/fri odd tues/thurs even one week, then tues/thurs odd and mon/wed/fri even the next week, et cetera.) HOWEVER i'm going to continue to pretend to hate block scheduling just 'cause i'm stubborn.

so:

odd days:
1. film/literature: my english class. AWESOME. i have a friend in the class, it's not AP and it's not retard english like last year, the teacher is totally chill (and is apparently in the third eye blind video for "jumper;" i haven't seen him, but a ton of people swear they have and i asked him and he said yes, 'it was in a different life'), we got to play with matches the first day, we get to watch a bunch of killer movies (like fight club :]), and my desk is actually a place on one of the couches.

3. japanese 3H: i've had the teacher before, so i know i like her, friend in the class, i like taking japanese...yeah. funtimes. (except, because it's an honors class, we hardly get to speak in english--eek. my japanese is pretty bad. 「私の日本語は... とても小さくてよくない。」)

5. AP calculus: ergh...i really like the class, i'm a total math nerd, the teacher is really nice, but...it's going to be really hard. but my teacher gets an A for AWESOME for showing us a calculus-based xkcd comic. (i needed this to figure that one out...esoteric, but funny :D)

even days:
2. AP chemistry: YES! i LOVE chemistry (and physics!) so i'm so exited for this class. and the teacher has this great sense of humor (if somewhat dry) and yeah I'M JUST SO EXITED. I JUST CAN'T HIDE IT. haha, hopefully we'll be doing harder more complex labs...with dangerous chemicals and fire! lots of homework though...

4. us government: easy class, great to follow up my looking-to-be-mosntrous ap chem class and share a homework day with it seeing as the homework doesn't seem to time-consuming. again, the teacher is awesome--she's no-nonsense and tough love, but still soft enough to let us write out won class constitution.  i like her. some of the kids in the class, though... well, let's just say a few of them never wear their thinking caps. oh, and tangent, west wing fridays--now, i've never seen the show, but she says it's like porn for liberals, so since i'm abot 2/3 far left and 1/3 far right, i'm guessing it's going to be pretty okay.

i only have us government for fall semster. spring i switch over to economics with a teacher a few of my friends have. i've seen him showing south park in class, and my friends say he makes dick jokes. i am CAN'T WAIT. he seems like he's actually on the same wavelength as all of us (i.e.: incredibly immature).

soooooooooooo yeah. IT'S MY LIVEJOURNAL AND I'LL BE BORING IF I WANT. not that anyone reads this anyways, since i don't every do anything community-like on lj and don't advetise for it at all in any way shape or form and it's basically just a slighty cooler version of a therapy diary...

whatever.

oh, and did you know that on the ABCDF grading scale, D is for diploma?
yeah, i just learned that

xkcd, boring, fun fact, ap, economics, japanese, english, chemistry, calculus, senior, schedule, film/lit, government, school, 日本語, linear
