both obama and mccain sucked. i didn't even know that there were other candidates until election day (not that i could've voted anyways). wich is retarded. party systems fuck over the public. gar.
at least sarah palin is vanquished.

ca props: see results by county
1a. "Safe, Reliable High-Speed Train Bond Act" :: yes
yay! i will totoally be using that. surprised it passes though.
2. "Standards for Confining Farm Animals" :: yes
i don't care about animals, idon't care about the prop
3. "Children's Hospital Bond Act. Grant Program"  :: yes
i don't care, and that kinda makes me a horrible person
4. "Parent Notif. Before Terminating Minor's Pregnancy" :: no
yay! i really didn'y care about the whole abortion thing, but the fact that the group this proposition directly effects doesn't get to vote on it is just stupid and lame.
5. "Nonviolent Drug Offense. Sentencing, Parole, Rehab" :: no
good -- let 'em rot.
6. "Police, Law Enforcement Funding. Criminal Laws" :: no
baaaaaad time to ask for funding. bad bad bad time.
7. "Renewable Energy Generation" :: no
yay! (it was written by some arizona billionire...not the solution to an energy crisis)
8. "Eliminates Right of Same-Sex Couples to Marry" :: yes
fuck central valley/inland republican christian fundamentalists. choke and die. i really don't know how los angeles, orange, and san diego counties got no's, though.... it's just not right. we shouldn't be taking away rights of people for any reason. oh, and fuck the no on 8 campaign--they didn't even try. they just took advantage of the fact that this is california.
9. "Criminal Justice System. Victims' Rights. Parole" :: yes
i really didn't like this one... if the victim has the power, then i don't even want to think about it
10. "Altern. Fuel Vehicles and Renewable Energy Bonds" :: no
it' agreed let people pay for their own fucking priuses.
11. "Redistricting" :: yes
i dunno about this one. my feelings on districting are mixed.
12. "Veterans' Bond" :: yes
i have to be honest. i really didn't get this one.

one last thing -- amendment 26 is my second favorite us constitutional amendment (right behind number 19, which gave women the right to vote), and one of the 6 or so i actually no. passed in 1971, it extended voting rights from 21-year-olds down to 18-year-olds. it's a prescendt for something i suddent;y feel strongly about: extending voting rights to those even younger. kids are so passionate, and the candidates are always trying to get the yoput vote, or to get us to vote at all. adults shouldn't keep the rights to themselves. i say teach government classes in junior year of high school, then extend voting rights to all kids registrered as high school seniors. why? because some kids are 18 by election time senior year, but some (like me_) aren't 18 until their first year of college, some not even until after the novemeber elections. how is is that less qualified to vote? or those supergenius kids who even graduate high school at like...14 years old; they can clearly make an intelligent and educated vote. yet kids who dropped out of high school can just go to the polls as soon as their 18! so not fair. we should extend it to everyone with the education to understand.
i know that soudns discrimintory, but prop 8 (and similar passed propositions to it across the country) have shown us that discriminatuion is king. fuck america, it is not the land of the free or the home of the brave, at leats not anymore. it's land of inequities and home to quibbling, sniveleing power-hingry jackasses.
and that's just my 'reasonable' stance. truly, i honestly believe their should be no limits on voting. but, sadly, that will never happen. so baby steps, right?
