Hamilton Heights Free Clinic
Located in the Hamilton Heights division of Harlem, just two blocks from the 145th Street subway station, is the Hamilton Heights Free Clinic. It is a small, single-floor, dirty looking public building, the type developed in the 1980s to attend to the city's poor. Since then, the clinic hasn't strayed its original purpose, and is open 24/7 to give medical attention to those that can't afford health insurance.
Consequently it is almost always crowded. A small staff, including a handful of nurses and one physician, work six to midnight, while only one or two nurses make up the late night staff, open for minor emergencies only.
Inside, the waiting room consists of airport style seats, fifty in all, and a single reception desk. Some days this room is crowded, and people are left with only standing room for hours, depending on their ailment. Beyond this room are two minor surgery rooms, and about ten open beds, with sliding curtains, on which most patients simply sit for their check-ups, shots, or stitches. A score of safe sex and immunization posters clog the walls, as well as signs reminding young mothers about mandatory mutant gene testing for all babies.
If you have settings you'd like to send us, please do so! Also, I am still behind on character info, and am going on a tour next week, so they probably won't get updated until next weekend. Sorry ]: After that you guys should be able to look for the rest of the changes/updates coming to 2017; such as group scenes and probably also the addition of an OOC board for commentary, notices, and suggestions. If you have any good ideas for group scenes, please let me know!
As far as the group scenes go, we'll have to decide on a format -- if you hate "star-action" as much as I do and have a better suggestion, I'm all ears.
