Challenge 4 Information
RULES
1. Icons must conform to LJ guidelines: 100x100 pixels, no larger than 40KB, .png and .gif formats only (NO .JPEG. PLEASE)
2. Animation is allowed ONLY if (a) you don't include more than five (5) animated icons in your post and (b) they're under 40KB.
3. Your icon post must remain public until after voting closes and the results are posted.
4. Icons should be free of excessive swearing and nudity.
5. Remember all three sections must be in accordance with the subject you claimed.
6. Your work must be your own, not pre-made! We want you to make new things, as this is meant to be a challenge. :)
7. When you're ready to post, in the subject line put "Challenge 1: Whatever your claim is"
8. When tagging your entries, tag it as maker: your username, they are added each time a participant enters a challenge so it should auto-complete for you. Also tag it with the current challenge number such as challenge 01 for this one. Those are the only two tags you'll need.
9. Post all your work in one entry to keep things organized.
10. Posting access is moderated and will be open to the participants during the challenge they signed up for.
11. Your claim is due July 20th by the end of the day in your timezone.

"Summer Blockbusters"
Summer is arguably the season for popcorn-flicks while our favourite shows are put on the back burner until fall. Not fun, right? Well, your challenge for this category is to treat Fringe like a hit summer movie. You must create 5 different fanworks that promote/portray Fringe as if it has the budget of a Tom Cruise action movie and is poised to make millions. How do you do this, you might ask? Simple! Choose any combination of the following options that add up to 5pts. I know this is a bit unconventional, but it should work out. If you have any questions, don't hesitate to ask!:
001) Trailer: Using clips from the show, create a ~trailer~ for Fringe. It cannot be less than 45 seconds (and cannot be longer than 2 minutes). All effects/music are permitted. You must use clips from more than 3 different episodes. You can center this trailer around your claim if you want, but it's not mandatory for this category. 5 PTS
002) Press release: Create a fictional press release for the Fringe movie. Who's starring? Who's guest-starring? What's the basic plot outline? Who's directing? Who's writing? It cannot be less than 100 words and no more than 350. The more detail, the better! 5 PTS
003) Poster: Create a poster promoting the movie. Remember, what draws people to a summer blockbuster? Action! Explosions! Romance! Uh, and whatever else you can think of. Remember, this isn't just your standard movie poster, you have to create it with the genre in mind. Dimensions must be 550x750 px. 2.5 PTS
004) Soundtrack: What would be playing in the background of an intense shootout between Peter, Olivia and some crazy guys from the Other Side? Definitely not Justin Beiber! Compile a mix of 5 songs for the blockbuster complete with cover art (350x350 px). 5 PTS
005) Icons: Remember, blockbusters need all the promotion they can get. Why not create some snazzy/badass ~avatars~ that will get people talking? I'm talking bright colours, big fonts, fight scenes, shoot outs, hot girls, and/or anything else you can think of that would make people look twice. 1 PT PER ICON
006) Re-cast: Pretend that the studio execs aren't too keen on Pacey Witter, I mean, Joshua Jackson, headlining their big summer hit. If you *had* to, who would you cast to play the big-screen versions of the Fringe team? You must include your choices for Peter, Olivia, and Walter PLUS at least two more characters. You MUST choose 5, but you can re-cast the entire show if you wish. Please include pictures (or graphics if you feel so inclined) of your new replacements. 2.5 PTS
In case any of you are still left scratching your head, let me attempt to clarify. As long as you choose something that totals up to 5 PTS, you're safe. You can choose to do 5 icons, 1 trailer, or 1 poster + the re-cast option, etc. Your claim does not apply to the category set, but if you wish to use it anyway, feel free to do so. If anything's unclear, please let me know!
