hello again

So, San Francisco is a beautiful city. I'm staying in the Green Tortoise Hostel, which has amazing free internet and comfortable beds, even though it's in a slightly interesting area with an abundance of porno shops!
Today was pretty productive :) Managed to find my way to Amoeba Music on Haight St again without cheating and getting the bus, which has cemented the way to things a bit more in my mind now, which is nice :) I was going to go to the Golden Gate Bridge again and hang out and write a bit, but as I'd been to the bridge last week I changed my mind and jumped on the BART and headed to Berkeley for the last few hours of the day. And wow. wow wow wow. I think, if I had been on the year abroad program when I was an undergrad, I've definitely stumbled upon the university I'd have chosen. The campus itself is gorgeous trees and grass and imposing buildings, and the area is awesome too- lots of cute cafes, interesting shops, and bookshops bookshops bookshops. I'm mildly skeptical about the 'everyone has one spiritual home' idea, I think that people can have multiple spiritual homes (aka places where they could exist and know they were meant to be there) and I kind of think Berkeley would be one of mine. :)
Even though UK airspace has been reopened, volcano-related shenanigans may make my life interesting as I have to fly home on thursday! Hopefully it'll get delayed a day or two :D
Tomorrow- the Coit Tower, Golden Gate Bridge Mark 2, an eatery on columbus ave that someone recommended to me and/or maybe a visit back to sparky's diner and their jukebox....
I am still very very content right now. I love how travelling just seems to reset my brain, coupled with the major personal realisations about life I had earlier this week. :)
