He never thought that something like this would happen to him.

Ever since he was young, he dreamt of meeting the right person and share the rest of his life with him. He always imagined happy thoughts and never did it cross his mind that something this tragic will happen to him.

He stood under the cherry blossom tree and looked down on the ground where his partners grave was set. The ceremony just ended and Tatsuya decided to stay to spend more time with the man he loved.

Tatsuya believed that fate brought the two of them together. Before meeting him, Tatsuya was already in a relationship with another person and he thought that that was already the man he was going to spend the rest of his life with. That was until he met him. They were still in college at that time and his partner back then had a childhood friend who was visiting. They were introduced to each other and they got along. At first it was just a friendly thing for the two of them but as time passed by, they grew closer and passed the boundaries of being just friends. They started to go out without Tatsuya's boyfriend and before they knew it, the two of them were already being intimate with each other.

The time came when his boyfriend's friend already confessed to him. Tatsuya's heart skipped in happiness but image of his boyfriend flashed in his mind. He wanted to elope with his boyfriend’s friend but he knew he can't. He needed to tell his boyfriend the truth because he has always been good to him and Tatsuya knew he was very much loved. He couldn't just leave him like that and crush him. Although he knew that he was going to break his heart when he tells him the truth, Tatsuya knows that its the right thing to do. He owes him the proper explanation to why this is happening.

His ex-boyfriend was such a good guy and let Tatsuya go. He told him that he loved him very much and it hurts to not be with him but if Tatsuya doesn't love him anymore, he won't force him to stay. That it'll be more painful for him to see Tatsuya unhappy in his arms. The two of them parted ways and Tatsuya was now free to be with his love.

After college, Tatsuya and his boyfriend moved in together. They were so in love and so happy that they thought it will last forever. They've been with each other for 5 years when Tatsuya found out about his boyfriend's condition. His leukemia came back. He had the illness when he was a child and the doctors thought they already treated it. When he had a scan, it showed that the cancer cells were never completely destroyed. Their growth was just delayed and after years of no treatment, the illness recurred.

Tatsuya expressed how scared he was to lose the man he loves. The doctors told them they'll do the best they can but never promised anything.

"Honey, I'm scared. Don't leave me." Tatsuya said.
"Don't be. I'm not going anywhere. I'll always be here. I went through this before, I'll definitely survive."

Although his treatments began, Tatsuya can't help but notice how weak his boyfriend was. When the doctors didn't see enough progress, they asked to keep him in the hospital. That's when his boyfriend started writing letters. Tatsuya tried to ask who they're for but he only said that he'll get to read them in the right time. Although struggling to hold a pen, his boyfriend kept on writing and was asking the nurses to send it to someone.

After two months of battle with his illness, his body gave up. He died the same day they met 6 years ago. Tatsuya cried and held on to him. All the tears he kept the past two months kept pouring out of his eyes.

When he calmed down, a nurse handed him an envelope with his name on it. He immediately recognized the handwriting

Baby, I wish you'll never read this letter because if you do, it means I'm gone. I'm sorry I wasn't able to keep my promise. I'm sorry that I have to leave you so soon. But always remember that you are never alone. I love you so much and I know you love me too but at the same time, we both know there is someone who loves you as much as I do. I've already talked to him through the letters. I never told him I was sick. All he knows is that I'm just trying to keep in touch and asking for advice. I told him I might be leaving you. He was really furious. I understand him. It was hard for him to let you go and to know that you'll be hurt because I'm leaving you will be unforgiveable. You've loved him before and I know you'll be able yo love him again. Don't be afraid to go back to the past. I know it’s where you belong.

A phone number was written after the message.

Tatsuya re-read that letter as he stood under the cherry blossom tree.

"I miss you so much, honey. I love you and thank you for making me happy for the past 6 years we've known each other. I promise that I'll continue to be happy from now 'til forever."

He blew one final kiss to his grave before turning his back to start anew.

As he walked away from the grave, he picked up his cell phone and dialed the number on the letter.

After just a few rings, someone answered.

"Tatsuya?" the man from the other line asked.

Tatsuya's heart pounded.

"He's gone." Tatsuya managed to say.
"I know. I'm sorry. I got a call from him mom the other day."

Tatsuya began to cry.

"He's gone,Ryo. I don't know what to do."
"Don't cry, Tatsuya. He won't be happy if he sees you like that. "
"Ryo~?"
"Hmm?"
"Will you come and pick me up?"
"I thought you'd never ask. I'll be there. "
"Just like the old times?"
"Yes. Just like the old times."
