Raise your hands?

I'm just wondering how many there are...

Please state rather you
a) Started watching because of Siddig (that would be me, for DS9)
b) Knew him as Dr.Bashir or ___ and is pleasantly surprised.
c) Hardcore 24 fan who have never seen the actor before, but found him /hot/.

Spoiler? )

I'm betting he will meet a timely death. The man is a huge terrorist. There are people who want him dead for two reasons: 1) because he is a terrorist, 2) because he wants peace.

Jack Bauer will not always be there to protect Mr. Al-Assad from BlackJack assasins.

Well, 24 likes to surprise people eh? gsyh January 23 2007, 05:54:31 UTC
Spoilers for Siddig's other works below:

Siddig's characters tends to meet an untimely end. In Syriana, Prince Nasir, who wanted to bring progressive reforms to his country, was taken out by an American air strike right when a deflected agent tries to warn him. In Spooks/M-15, Ibhn Khaldun was blown up with the teenage suicide bomber he was trying to save.

Then all the way back in Star Trek: Deep Space Nine, while his character ultimately escapes the series alive and intact in spite of losing the loves of his life and getting dumped by rebound girl, in canon, he had been kidnapped and tortured and replaced, multiple times. One can make a DS9 drinking game out of the Bashir Angst Factors.

So wouldn't it be SURPRISE if he actually doesn't meet an unwell end in 24?

I read this in the special EW pull out from a couple weeks back:

"It's a joke amongst my family that I am always dying in everything that I do, " laughs Siddig. "Probably 90 % of the movies of TV shows that I've done, I've been killed. If I were to pick up a flowerpot and explode one day on 24, it wouldn't surprise me." Wait - was that a spoiler?

LOL!

Yeah I heard that one too gsyh January 23 2007, 22:18:37 UTC
Apparently Siddig's characters also "got it" in Vertical Limit and Reign of Fire...the first was something about nitro...0_o, and well, I don't know how he got killed in Reign of Fire, but since that movie have dragons...

Would it be mean to start a dead pool on Hamir Al-Assad now? Since his character is supposed to be sympathetic, at last the death will be dignified... I'm going to vote him dodging a shot for someone, cliché yes, but it works...if Jack Bauer is holding him in the end. *whistle innocently*

Like babel, what i most want is for Assad to get some more screen time with Jack before he gets killed. Maybe they can get trapped on a desert island or something...

...and Siddig should guest star on CSI next!

Not exactly a hardcore 24 fan, but I didn't know he'd be on the show and spent the first few episodes wondering if I was mildly nuts for finding the reformed terrorist guy hot.

He didn't die in Kingdom of Heaven eh?

I know that he dies in:
Spooks/M-15 (blown up)
Vertical Limit (something about nitro... eeep)
Reign of Fire (well there were fire breathing dragons...)
Syriana (blown up)

What else?

that's right! He didn't die in Kingdom of Heaven. It was quite sad how he died in MI5. But I want to here his real accent. He's Australian? Or is he british. Can't remember.

He has lovely eyes :)
