book list update
Yesterday I had lunch with losselen. She's very kind and sweet and somewhat sneaky; the pizza was good, too. And in the process I discovered a furniture seller who stored nails in an empty container of eggplant hummus. <3! [/RL snippet]

Day before yesterday I finished Woman Warrior. I felt the ending was abrupt but I was glad to learn about two more things from the author's life. Have started on Lucky Jim now. I'm mildly surprised by how fast I read through it despite the somewhat weighty prose. The excessive words encumber me. When was the last time I read something "lean, taut, and sparse in style"?
I tried yesterday to write some more of the pending Mayama/Rika fic for the Anti-OTP challenge while listening to Yann Tiersen, but I felt sleepy. I managed to edit two sentences before crashing, though. Maybe I need to wake up at 3:30 in the morning again to take a long shower and then I might feel inspired (?) enough to add more. Well, it worked the first time. XD (As it is, I have a bunch of notes on paper that almost do not make sense anymore, which worries me. There's "sitting like orchid" which is lifted from Gatsby and which in the dawn light of coffee shops Rika would do, and then there's that part about her shirt collar sticking out like the lip of a tulip petal--forget it.)
