Let them heal.
I think the past week we've heard so much about the scandal between Jack Neo and his alleged mistresses and girlfriends. The net and daily papers have been plastered with all the developments of this news, and gosh, I'm talking about 5 updates per day on Straits Times Online? It's crazy. And it's tragic.
Just because he's known by almost every single person you see on the streets doesn't mean that he does not make mistakes. We have all made our fair share of mistakes. Why does his become extremely unacceptable in the eyes of so many? I am not trying to say that what he did was right, but I'm sure things like this happens. Maybe the person right next to you is facing the same situation, you just wouldn't know. Why does his have to get this magnified. I know people do have expectations on celebrities like Jack Neo, but cut him so slack will you? He's human, just like you and I. And I believe everyone should be given second chances (or even third, fourth, 100th...), because we've all been given a chance to even exist in this world. Why can't your heart be bigger?
I admire his courage for standing up to his own mistakes. Yes it's true that his past mistakes have finally caught up with him. Being in the public eye, I'm sure he has lots to consider about before he does a public confession - his wife and kids, his career etc. Let him who is without sin cast the first stone. So before you point fingers, maybe reflect on yourself and see if you can rally that kind of courage that he has.
I can imagine the amount of stress and sleepless nights his family have had these past few days. I watched the press conference videos online, (just like every kay-poh netizen here), and I can't help but feel sad. It's heart breaking to even watch it. And if you have a heart, you'll probably agree with me as well.
I can say loudly and clearly that I support Jack Neo and his family. Let them move on and let them heal. Be human, and have a bigger heart. Stop hurting, start loving.
