The death should have been shorter. And in the radition chamber with only wilf. I would have prefered a quick tour of earth without the doctor, to see all the lives that have been changed by him. That would have made me sob. As it was...
Though I think perhaps it was good that Ten died alone. Nine got to have Rose with him, and Nine was so wonderful, and he loved her so much, and for all his darkness, he was never as cruel as Ten who inevitably pushed all those people away.
The episode would also have been better for me if there had been a resolution for Donna. Even her death would have been preferable to that marriage. It made me terribly angry to watch that happen. I want Donna to find love, to get married, but I do not want her to live this stunted life, raped of her most important memories which shaped and defined her as a person. When Wilf's phone rang I was praying for Doctor Donna to answer, and when she didn't I shouted at the screan. I spent the entire episode waiting for that charater, and she never came. Stephen Moffet, you better fix this.
For reading other people's posts, I understand the woman was "Susan" an important figure in Classic Who...I am guessing. Will have to do some wikipedia research on that.
I'm happy for Martha and Mickey, I think they're perfect for each other. But I wanted to see them join torchwood and fall in love while being hit on constantly by Jack. Another dream never to be realized RTD.
I loved seeing AlsonoGeorge, that was unexpected and awesome.
I agree with Carolyn about a cacti girl being the next companion. Although clearly that actress has to go be George's love interest on Being Human. HOwever I would love to see a companion who wasn't a young girl from London.
Weeping Angels of Old. Interesting.... Blink was Stephen Moffet episode, and I wonder if that shout out in there was just a lovely bit of continuity or if RTD is setting up something for Moffet to build on.
The Master is dead. I was more devastated the first time around, only because he was such a great villian...but all that crap in part one of this episode sort of ruined that character for me. So I want someone one new, and I want that someone to be a Time Lord. The second most dissipointing thing about this Doctor Who episode, after Donna, was that they were sent back. I would adore a universe with other Time Lords. Sure I have only to catch up on my Classic Who, but...I want to see that now.
I'm ready for new episdoes, and I'm ready to meet Eleven. And I'm ready for a new showrunner.
And a message to the writers: RTD, I will always love you for season one of Doctor Who, much like I will always apprecaite George Lucas for bringing me the original Star Wars and Indiana Jones trilogy, but there are some things that can't be forgiven.
