The Foo-File
I went to an event last night and spent three hours in the company of Chemist Foo, so I decided to take this opportunity to collect some intel on him.
(this is all for you heimshal .. and for the excuse to use the 'chemist foo' tag, which I think I will change to 'footastic')
- he doesn't really listen to music anymore. He'll turn on the radio while in the car, but doesn't really listen to it.
- the only tv programming he watches is the news.
- if he's not watching the news, he likes watching old movies on Turner Classic Movies
- he saw Avatar, but didn't really like it because he "likes movies based on facts, that movie had none of that" (note: I think he meant movies that are realistic)
- when I tried to explain to CF that Avatar was really a story with an agenda (the US bullying the middle east in order to steal their oil, blah blah etc) he still didn't like it
- he only drinks caffeine once every two weeks, but he also highly restricts sugar consumption. He had three small desserts last night and claimed it was 'too much sugar' for his body.
- he primarily eats meat and vegetables, cooking with no salt, and has increased the amount of (fresh) chilies being added because his tastes require it.
- he has 4 brothers and 4 sisters; 13 nieces and nephews
- if you ask him to dance his face turns very red
- he has a slight sadistic side, in the sense of laughing at my stories of mortification and humiliation at work
- he did not put in for my job!
- he did a test run of the drive to the event locale, which I think is the cutest thing I've ever heard.
- he got lost during his test drive, which is only 10 minutes from his house.
- seven years later and he is still weeding his yard (he refuses to use pesticides and destroy the environment)
- he is such an environmentalist that he manually feeds sheets through the printer to use the other side, instead of using a new sheet and further killing trees
- his fingertips were stained from silver nitrate contact
- his favorite drink is hot water (good for the circulatory system)
- he only drinks alcohol once a year .. maybe. Sometimes.
- he is happy in his new job ... FINALLY (aka: two years later)
