Ohhh, the theory that November ending and December starting meaning NOTHING BUT GOOD HAPPY SHINY PRETTY THINGS COMING MY WAY was false.
Broke glassware. Spilled methanol on myself, the new chemist, and the floor. Worked through my break and only got a 15 minute lunch. Sprayed my face accidentally with indicator solution (yay pink stripes/dots!). Oh right, and the power went off. AGAIN. Twice in the past two weeks.
At least it didn't freeze rain after all.
Oh, and L. has officially quit as backup mixing chemist. I'm torn as to whether to apply or not, since long term I'm hoping to get a job closer to Dave. I'm not looking for one now, but I will eventually ... and I have a horrible guilt complex.
However, when I told my boss I wanted to apply, she told me that I'm likely going to lose learning HPLC now. Blackmail? Definitely. So, of course, I'm now going to apply in spite of them and politely mock them in a very frenchman from Monty Python and the Holy Grail manner.
