Now for the stuff I forgot to mention in my obscenely long concert (or rather, post show) report...
Edie and Lynette were great hotel-mates. We stayed up talking until 2:30.
Pat said that the Autumn Defense are not playing their annual Thanksgiving Eve show at Schuba's this year. Damn. I was REALLY looking forward to that. He asked if I was there last year, and I said "Yeah, that was one of the best shows I've ever been to, so much fun, when you played with Laurie & John yadda yadda yadda..." I can't believe he didn't remember me. I looked FINE that night! He probably just wasn't sure that was me.
When we got into Mojo's, Pat started to talk to me again (fangirls found something else to do for a minute, I guess.) He had to lean in real close because the house music was pretty loud. "Have you seen these guys before?" he asked. "No," I said. "Oh man, watch the drummer, he's incredible." "Better than Glenn?" I smirked. "I'm not going to answer that," he smiled.
What else was there? I'm sure I'm still forgetting things...such a good time...
Oh, yeah, when Jeff was posing with people for pictures, someone said "Smile!" and he sort of did that closed lip smile that he always does. Then, in between pictures he started talking about how in all of the metal posters the guys are all grimacing, like they can't be happy at all. But how in all of the pop star posters, the people are all grinning like they're super happy. So, for the next couple pictures he sort of grimaced. Then for the last one I said "pop star smile!" and he gave the most artificial grin ever. So funny. Who got that picture? It was one of us, I know.
