I'd planned on writing a lot more than I'm going to in order to update my LJ right now.
First off: I'm back in C-dale. My room is unpacked and clean, although still undecorated. I love my house and my housemates. Ana hasn't left yet and I'm pretty happy about that! Lana just moved in today. Brett may be moving in. That's the house update.
Two words: Pantsless Jesus. (a drunk guy who looked like Jesus showed up at our door the other night without pants on. Hijinks ensued. It's a long story. Just wait until we get the website up, it will be magnifico!)
I had a big emotional breakdown on Tuesday complete with screaming and crying and questioning things and friendships that I thought I was sure about. In better news: I got Katie's parents' birdy, Java, to not be afraid of me (she's terrified of people) and she almost fell asleep in my cleavage. (It's a magic thing, what can I say?)
I'm back in touch with James and he seems keen on getting together with me again. That's something to look forward to.
My new external hard drives arrived yesterday. They're beautiful. I'm already loading up one with tons and tons of music. The other is staying in its box until I have to start editing again. I think my favorite thing about this kind is that there is lots of ventilation, so it doesn't overheat. The last one got hot within minutes of plugging it in.
Katie's bed is magic. I haven't slept so well in a completely different place well...ever! Nor do I even sleep that well in a familiar bed. Needless to say, it's a happy thing.
Looking forward to classes, although not my insane schedule (some days I start at 9am....others I end at 9pm.) I need to talk to a couple of my profs because my cousin Sarah is getting married on a Sunday in November...and my mom is pretty insistent that I go (and I really want to!), but the odds of me getting back in time for either of my first two classes on that Monday are highly unlikely. So, that's an issues. I figure I'll give myself a week or two of class to develop a positive relationship with my profs and then bring up the issue.
I think the greatest thing about this house is the sense of community and connection that it seems to bring out in people. We will all just sit around together talking, eating, or just chilling for hours without even thinking about it.
Tomorrow I will take my bike in for new tires (and so I can get a helmet) and then high-tail it over to TP to visit Jenna and Katie. I still owe Katie a mix CD that I haven't really finished yet. Hmm...
I miss Two Cow. *sigh*
It's just about bedtime. As soon as I'm done with the CD I'm currently ripping, I'm gonna hit the hay. G'nite, y'all.
