So, yesterday I watched "Don't Look Back" with my Mom and Dad. Several things about Dylan occured to me:
-He took himself way to seriously
-However, he had some pretty damn good points even when he did sound pretentious and self absorbed
-If he hadn't smoked so much, maybe he'd sound better now, and that makes me so happy that Jeff quit.
-The thing with Donovan was hilarious
-Bobby was not a really bad looking guy when he was young...he was just a skinny Jewish boy...he had pretty eyes...I would have gone to prom with him. Also, he looked really young in the movie, like my age...
It's strange...how people say things like "To be a fly on the wall!" What would that get you really? Being present in a situation maybe something you can tell your kids about, but if you involve yourself in something, you go down in history. I don't want to be a fly on anyone's wall...I want to be in that room with all of the flies watching me!
One more thing: "Heartbreaker" kicks some major ass. If you didn't know anything about David Adams (yes, I call him that, I once mailed a check to him by that name) and you just listened to this album, you'd think that he was a sensitive guy with real feelings...and not a completely egotistical strung out asshole. Oh well. I'll just pretend...
So, A-man, G and Via are all coming into Chi for the Friday show...holy crap, this is going to be a trip.
12 days until 97's...11 days until Wilco...
