Making my way back to....blue...

Nov 10, 2006 14:25

I'd just like to say first that this is the first concert I've been to where I wasn't wearing one of my SABSIS bracelets (generally it was the rope one that Sarah gave me) and at one point I looked at my wrist and it looked naked...it was a wierd feeling. Just thought I'd share.

Anyway...Brett and I didn't get started until late and wound up hitting the road at about 8...we were both starving so we dropped by Little Cesaer's for pizza and then we REALLY hit the road.

We managed to miss the first couple songs of Bobby's set but had no trouble getting in and I believe we may have been the only ones on the list (which saddens me a little) and, yeah, the rest of his set was fookin' awesome, per usual. I'm just happy that I didn't miss "Valentine" and "Flat Chested Girl From Maynardville"...I probably missed "I'll Be Around", though, which saddens me. Oh, and, of course, I got to talk to him...he hugged me and then asked if I was gonna be at the Chicago show.

After Bobby's set, Michael and I found each other. Things weren't awkward or anything. I was actually quite comfortable. He had his arm around me most of the time and it just felt natural. It made me happy and not so much scared as I was the night before. I'm still playing hard to get, though...it's too early to make a real decision.

My voice = shot, totally. Not as bad as last night, but not conducive for shouting obscene things. Katie is coming over in about half an hour with honey, salt and other things for home remedies.

Last night when I got home, I'm sure I had a fever because my room was cold...and my room is never cold. In the middle of the night I woke up absolutely soaked and was forced to strip off my pajamas and just sleep in a light t-shirt. Bleargh. Tylenol is my friend today...I need to pick up some more of that, as well as a new bottle of Pepto (out) and some cough drops...maybe a few bottles of Gatorade.

Road trips are fun because there's something almost sacred about the space in the car when it's just two people. You can say anything and not worry about anyone else hearing it. I like it. I've made some great friends that way.

Ok, I'm gonna zonk out for a few minutes and try to forget about how much my legs ache. (Oh shit...and the heels I'm wearing tonight...)
