Just like home...

Well, here I am.

This is home.  It really is.  My parents might not be here, but my family is.  It's a fucked up kinda family, with lots of drama, but there's really a lot of love.

Dad and Chris and I set out early on Saturday morning.  We stopped in Champaign around noon so that they could meet up with the execs for a really cool little record label that puts out remastered pre-electric records from the turn of the century.  I skipped out after some time and went to hang out with Lisa, who is awesome.  We got bagels and then walked around campus for a while before my dad found me and we hit the road again.  Not too long after we left Champaign we stopped in a small town that has the nation's only hippie memoral.  Being the crazy hippies we are, we took photos in front of it, of course.

We got into C-dale at about 5:30 and brought everything into my room.  After this we headed out to Longbranch for dinner.  Katie met up with me and stole me away for the rest of the night.  I saw her new house and we hit Hangar, then decided it was boring and went back to her place to play with her baby hedgehog, Arnold.

Sunday I unpacked and said my goodbyes to Dad.  I spent most of the day socializing with my old friends in the hall.  Brett came over and we put up posters.

I already had one class today:  Film Production 1.  My prof seems pretty cool, she's really nice...and my TA is named Brian Wilson, so I've got a good feeling about this class.

I'm heading out to creative writing in about 15 minutes...then film analysis after that.

Tonight, a bunch of us are gonna go see snakes on a motherfuckin' plane.  I'm quite looking forward to that.

However, I feel like crap.  My system is still pissed off about the upper GI.

3 days until Nashville!

friends, carbondale, class, college, crohn's
