Spring Update
I guess its time for another update. Things seem to be going pretty well, RJ is doing so much better with the internet schooling than he did in school at least by way of scores. He sits in the living room with his laptop and does his work. Sometimes I forget he is even home he is so quiet out there.
Two weeks before RJ’s 16th birthday he was kicked out of school because of another major meltdown. I can understand the principle’s view, RJ is loose cannon, there is no guarantee that he will never go off again or how bad his melt down will be. He is not a little boy anymore and can be dangerous if he explodes. It is not good for him either to be so stressed that he does go off. People just will not learn to leave him alone until he calms down instead of trying to restrain him.
He had a nice birthday we took him to red lobster which he always in joys he had to go see his psychiatrist the next day so I told him we would stop and go birthday shopping with the money he got. Of course, he got some video games and more of his magic the gathering cards that have become his latest obsession. Since the stress of having to go to school and deal with society is no longer, there he has mellowed out a lot. He does miss the friends he had made and we are working on maybe getting him either to be able to go to school at lunch time a couple times a month or have his friends come over to the pizza parlor and play magic and eat pizza all afternoon.
As far as I go things have been a lot more peaceful since he has started the internet schooling, RJ was so worried that Mike would be made at him that he started reading negative things into any look Mike would give him. That too has passed and if things keep going this quietly then I might be able to get a part time job this summer. Financially we should not be hurting so much this summer because RJ’s orthodontics will be played off and the Jeep. Therefore, that and a part time job I might actually be able to start saving money. Here is keeping my fingers crossed.
