Just another month
Well I guess its update time. The house has been on the market for 4 weeks now and nothing from the realtor yet about any nibbles or interest in the place. I really hope we can sell this place before August because school starts the 22 and I want to be moved in and settled in before all the turmoil or school starts up again. Not to mention making sure RJ doesn’t have to go back to his old school for even a month.
Last Saturday was the annual garage sale that the lake association always has. We did pretty well at selling stuff in spite of all the rain and the thunderstorm that came through. There will be a lot less stuff to have to move once we get our new house. The Friday before we went to Krogers and they had 10X10 ft canopies on sale for $15 so we bought two. Good thing we did or we would have been soaked. Most of the stuff stayed pretty dry under them. We had to throw a tarp over the bunk bed but that was the only thing we really had to worry about. What we had left were a bunch of RJ’s children’s books and some tapes so I took them over to the library and donated them. They can throw away what they don’t want and keep what they do. We made up a bunch of fliers with the house stats on it in case anyone coming to the garage sale wanted information on the house. One couple asked for a sheet so at least one person was slightly interested.
There seems to be a sign on our house somewhere saying they feed stray kittens. Two stray kittens appeared at hour house screaming to be feed the other day. A tiny orange kitten and a white Siamese looking one, the white one looks to be maybe 4 months old where the orange is probably only 8 weeks old. It was all Warfy could do to not feed the two. He has such a soft spot for kittens but four is our limit. The lady next door asked if the orange kitten was ours and Warfy told her know. I think she took it in because we haven’t seen it since.
With all the rain we have been having we have been getting a bumper crop or tomatoes and beans. We should be able to start picking watermelon and cantaloupe in a few more weeks. The corn is getting 3 and 4 ears per stalk so we should get a nice crop in. I wish I still had my canning supplies because there are too many beans to eat fresh and there is no room in the freezer to freeze them. Needless to say we have been eating a lot of tomatoes and fresh green beans.
Tomorrow is Friday and Warfy has to work overtime which is nice as far as the money aspect of things. I need to go to the bank and so some running around. I probably will bring RJ with me to air him out and stop by Checker records and get a couple of smoothies.
