I really liked this. Tell me there's more. I really want to see what happens. I like this Wes. He's more like the Wes after Angel knocked that stick right out of his butt. I would like to see these two work together with their two Slayers to defeat the Mayor. Let me know if you do write more. You made me smile with this. Great job!

I'm so glad that you liked it! As for more...maybe this summer, when I've got some more free time on my hands. I do like it enough to write more, though, so that's always a good start.

Ooh, nicely done! Cursed knife, good idea. This was a very juicy prompt indeed, and I like what you've done with it here. It was an interesting question for me, when I was working on mine, of how Faith and Wes would be different in this AU; we made remarkably similar choices from that respect, I think, though the stories are rather dissimilar in other ways. Faith is still Faith, but the stability Wes gives her means she's playing with a slightly more complete deck than in the show, and Wes is much closer to the Wes on Angel. You did a good job of showing those changes within the scope of the story.

Thanks so much! I figured if Faith managed to keep her Watcher and Wes realized earlier on that maybe the Council isn't right about everything, that things would work better for them. They always seemed like they would be a good balance for each other if they gave each other a real chance.

I've never understood why the council didn't send her a real watcher - and actually, it shouldn't have been Wes, because she has no respect for men, she just doesn't. It should have been a woman like she had originally. Someone like Gwen Poste, but not, you know, evil, would have actually worked well for Faith.

I find myself rather intrigued by Faith's backstory and her first watcher.

I fic I once read had a good idea as to why Buffy and Faith were sent Wes: that he would be so bad that they would be eternally grateful when they sent them a 'real' Watcher and would do whatever the replacement of Wes said. It made sense to me at the time, considering that the Council is full of manipulative bastards.

It's not canon, but the book Go Ask Malice: A Slayer's Diary has a lot of back story for Faith and her first watcher. It's worth a read if you're curious enough...and can actually find a copy of it.
