it is snowing a whole lot here in yamanashi now and i am feeling trapped.
i put some more pictures up.
tahiti
that's william, one of the kids in the family i stayed with.
more
here - more rapa nui, tahiti, fiji and papua new guinea pics in the 'part 3' folder. lots of animal pictures in the 'part 1' folder too, although most of them aren't mine. in kenya most of the groups went on safari, but i did a homestay in a small village instead so didn't see many animals... but i liked the pictures anyway so there they are. it's a bit strange thinking i spent time in africa (albeit not much) and didn't actually do the whole safari thing but i still think i was pretty lucky to go to kwa mongo instead. translating there wasn't exactly easy though... it went from the local language to swahili then to english and that was what i had to put into japanese. talk about complicated.
(actually tahiti was like that as well - the family i was with are from futuna and only speak futunian, so that had to then be translated into tahitian then french then english and japanese from there. yikes)
anyway, time to get back under the kotatsu. brrrr.
