I moved!
I say it like it's something new, but I actually moved last weekend. I'm actually living with people I know, from work, so it's like a nice little Starbuckian cult or something.
It's a house, there are the two girls I know upstairs, with the kitchen and whatnot, and I share the basement with the guy that I don't know. However, he seems nice, and whenever he sees me, he says "How's it goin?" and seems somewhat genuinely interested in the answer. The basement is pretty huge, Grant (The guy) is rarely there, and the bathroom we share is also huge and immaculate. I basically share the bathroom with his deoderant. I also have my own little exit, which is super useful for moving my shit in and out.
Also, it's a 5 minute drive from work/school, which is pretty awesome. I guess there are several buses that run conveniantly, but I haven't had a chance to check them out yet. We don't have internet yet, which doesn't bother me, but I am pretty lazy about getting to a computer, so it does bother all the email I need to keep track of.
This is kind of a scattered summary of my new home...The other high points include two fridges, 3 roommates over 21, a new fabulous bed, and my closet which is the Cupboard Under The Stairs-Harry Potter style. The only low points are I slept on the floor until Friday, and my room is in shambles until I can move the rest of my furniture/lay my hands on a hammer and whatnot so I can assemble my other furniture.
Work is going - I finally figured out a good schedule for rehearsals and days off. I have Wednesdays and Sundays off, which means that I don't get a full weekend off, but I also never have to work for more than 3 days in a row. Although, that will get kinda crazy next week, since we have our first showing for DMC, and I'll need Tuesday off instead.
I had my second rehearsal yesterday...it went good-ish. I was missing a dancer, which made me sad. Also, I have some stuff now, but the way I have them paired doesn't work so well. On Sunday I have more material to teach, and I'll have them construct some more material, and mess with that. I'm excited for the showing, because I need advice.
I'm kind of ridiculously behind in my classes, and am only now starting to catch up. If I can study like a mad woman the next week or so, I can get through my Stat midterm, and then just stay caught up for the rest of the quarter. I have never been so behind, and out of touch with school before. It's weird. I have a better schedule for school, worse schedule for work/rehearsals next quarter. I think I'll end up with Tuesdays and Thursdays off for next quarter, and suck it up and work the full weekend. Meh. We'll see though. Depending on what sort of shift team we have, Jason might be able to still give me Sundays off.
I need to go gather my costume - I'm going to work 50's style tomorrow! Yay!
Kia.
