When it rains...

It pours.

Stupid computer, I think I finally got it running this morning. Took a few more installs, some more drivers, one botched LabVIEW install. So far, so good. We'll see what the Russian judges say as the day progresses.

Had a guy come up to me this morning at 9:30am, asking for a laptop for a presentation he has to give at 11am. That's all well and good, except Yong took the only spare laptop that I know about with him to Minneapolis. Whoops. Some advance notice would have been nice there buddy. One of the other guys knew where a spare was, so we used that. Of course it had to have its domain switched first, thetn he didn't even know what he was looking for on the network. Basically he wanted his presentation handed to him, for him to click a button and start talking. Some people really are that lazy. I should know, I'm more than familiar with them.

[Edit: just found this out]
They hired a new receptionist today. Talk about a 180. She's 55, Jewish and has a nasal accent that would make Barbara Streisand do a double take. Man. Way to kill the mood guys.

Got my haircut last night finally. It's been a long time since I saw my ears. Now my head feels 5 pounds lighter. I'll have to take pictures one of these days, I haven't done that in a while. There are some demanding people out there.

Chick cutting it was cute too. Kept talking about the crazy people she had yesterday, some lady with an OCD that wanted one hair cut at a time, a little kid with ADD who wouldn't sit still. Pretty funny. I left her a nice tip, I felt bad.

I was dead when I woke up this morning. Couldn't move, couldn't get my head off the pillow, had trouble reaching to shut my alarm off. And that was after 8 hours sleep. I think I woke up around 6am or so, but I passed right back out again. And I think my dreams were funny. I dunno.

Oh, and you know what I hate? Hypocrites. People that say they really hate something, then go ahead and do it anyway. I mean, if you really disliked something, would you keep doing it? Or would you start doing it again after you stopped already?

I think of weird things while waiting for slow computers to finish installing stuff.

Mmm, lunch.
