CHARACTER MEME

Twapalena Kangaroorat
1. "Twap" was originally an onomatopoeia for the sound her feet made when she hopped. : 3 Later lengthened to "Twapalena" and then shortened to "Twapa" much later. XD
2. Uhhhhh I don't remember. I was like, 6 or 7. I think I probably saw a picture of a kangaroo rat in a book or something and had to make a character of it.
3. I could fill an entire book with the answer to this question. Notably, she originally (or at least at my oldest recollection) had a whole slew of siblings, lived in a house carved out of a tree in a forest, and her enemies were a bunch of giant weasel-like creatures called "Segas". I didn't know at the time that "Sega" was the name of a video game company. >_> Pretty sure she has always been heroic, brilliant, and sarcastic, though. That hasn't changed much.
4. She got the ear notch after I saw "The Rescuers Down Under". OBVIOUSLY. But she didn't originally have one. Also she didn't used to have red hair, but I'm not sure exactly when that developed.
Meara Von Snitter
1. I blatantly stole the name from the main character of Richard Adams' "The Plague Dogs" to use as a screen name on Redwall fansites. "Meara" was added later, at exactly the point in "Untitled!" where Fiar joins the cast.
2. Snitter was originally my Redwall-verse avatar for use in stories and RPs and such.
3. Originally she was a Redwall-style hare with a blue earring, a blue scarf, and a green and yellow tunic and she hung out with a guinea pig named Gip. She was a little sarcastic but mostly crazy.
4. Her love interest was originally a male hare named Breccalis whose personality was based on a guy friend I had a crush on at about age 13. >_>
Erin Ruadh
1. Generic stereotypical Irsih-related name FTW.
2. Erin was initially a hybrid of Twapa and Snitter, as per this drawing: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v75/twapa/Old/olderin.jpg I made her up to spare Twapa from being involved in any stories with Apollo (a character made up by a friend of mine during high school). Or maybe it was to spare Apollo from Twapa... Hmmm. But anyway, I decided I didn't want her to be a hare (probably because we decided Apollo was also a hare) so I changed her to a fox.
3. Erin was designed for a medieval fantasy type setting. Now she is punk and plays the guitar. XD
4. Erin is left-handed, in case you hadn't noticed. I think that came about as the result of me drawing her with a guitar slung wrong way round and I decided to just make her a lefty. XD
Xheotris (Xe)
1. I think it was part inspired by a random "alien" name generated by this one computer game I had a looooong time ago. I think I got the "Xheot" from that and made up the ending. Then I shortened it to "Xe" in the comic and then he sort of unofficially changed it to that himself. >_>
2. Pretty sure I made him up during my early Redwall-fan days (~age 11). He was Zirrus' kid. I think his initial purpose was to serve as a sort of "mini-boss" for Twapa to fight against in her younger years before she was going to face off with Zirrus. Srsly.
3. Originally Xheotris was evil. He was obsessed with killing Twapa for some unknown reason. He was kind of a really angsty Redwall-type "vermin" guy. He had knives and stuff.
4. You know Idria was originally his dysfunctional girlfriend and not his sister, right? She was nicer than him, too. XD
Ciaran "Keer" Kangaroorat
1. Don't remember where I got the name. Probably a name book or something. I wanted something celtic-y because that was how I rolled in those days (see also: Erin Rudah).
2. There was some new world/scenario I was working on that I was going to try and have Twapa be in but without all the previous canon of her continually re-worked storylines. Ciaran was supposed to be kind of a friendly antagonist... sort of a rogueish character. He had a hare for a buddy but the hare's name has been lost to the mists of time.
3. Well, originally he was supposed to be suave and snarky, but then in U! he sort of got turned into a slightly sarcastic and wimpy emo kid? XD But then somewhere along the line he turned incredibly sexy. FFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFF!!!1 *fans self*
4. Everybody is secretly gay for Keer. : p
