I got an invite and checked it out last week, but was put off when I found out it was a downloaded app, and not just a server-side one.

Q: Does it actually scan your entire machine to index all your music, or can you totally restrict it to just one folder that you choose to share?

I have over 100GB of DRM-free mp3s that I've kept off anyone's radar thus far, and I'm leery of the implications of having anything index them (for a number of reasons, some of which are obvious).

You can set which folders it scans - but I don't think the information goes into the cloud anyway.

I actually like that it's a desktop app. It's purdy.
