I have to admit, I've been a bit slack on keeping up with the VS, simply because I've been distracted by my own writing projects. I actually intended to catch up on the whole series this weekend, in order, but I clicked on this just to scan over the first couple of paragraphs, and I was totally hooked -- COULD NOT STOP READING. :D

This was one of the most satisfying Torchwood stories I've read in a long time; it definitely feels episode-like, and it made me tense and sad and squeeful in all the right places. I genuinely thought at several points that things might not turn out well, both for Mica and Jack and Ianto -- and that made the happy ending all the more satisfying; I really did feel genuine fear for them at some points. It would be really easy to let the romantic stuff between Jack and Ianto get too sappy, but you managed to keep it under control while still making me go "awww". I think there's a real sense that even though things are good between them at the conclusion of this story, there are still Issues that will not necessarily be resolved easily.

Now I need to go back and read all the eps that I've missed -- but I'll do that tomorrow because I'm sleepy. :)

Anyway, well done. :D

Thanks so much :D I'm really glad that it feels episode-like, because that was a challenge for me (I kept wanting to write a romance!)

If you haven't had a chance, check out Ianto's diary for this ep, because it's got a pic of Jack and Mica feeding the seagulls! ADORABLE!
