One of my favorite things is day-in-the-life stories that disguise character revelations. Another two of my favorite things are Rhys and bakeries. I'M JUST SAYING. THERE ARE A LOT OF REASONS WHY THIS IS AWESOME.

Also, to the surprise of no one who knows me, I own the cookbook featured in the banner for this episode, so I grin every time I scroll past it.

I have to admit, it's kind of awesome, but not as awesome as it could be. There aren't enough pictures on the inside. I ended up buying it anyway (my cousin has a Halloween party every year and I make most of the food for it), but cookbooks, especially baking cookbooks, should have pictures of everything, man! Not just stupid descriptions.

I hope I've enlightened your day with a rant on cookbooks from a stranger on the internet XD

First, holy crap your icon.

Second, many of the fairy cakes that are made at this bakery come from this amazing book "Vegan Cupcakes Take Over the World" -- so awesome! But even they don't have a pic of every single cupcake, I don't think. HOWEVER. They have pics of each TYPE of cupcake. And tips and shit. I love that book. But yes, I totally agree, recipes need pics so we know we're getting it right! It should be a prerequisite.

OMG, this story is Epic fun! The hilarious TW training videos, Rhys and his awesome notes, Jack's chasing of a toy and Ianto's dead-on predictions of how that will go, Gwen and Ianto's awkward run-in at the store (and Ianto's hasty purchase of some condoms)...all competely awesome. The cat is giving me strange looks because I can't help but burst out in random giggles every time I remember another little bit. Well done!

I have been completely in love with this episode since I read the first draft and have been SO looking forward to everyone else getting to read it. Especially for the videos, and the condoms scene.

I think the condoms might be my favourite bit, but it's so hard to choose! Really, I started laughing at the prank Jack and Ianto pulled on poor JJ (especially Ianto's meticulous labelling of everything and the instructios on the scanner), and didn't stop until after Rhys's glee at Jack falling on his arse!

Of course, I definitely appreciate the excellent bits of character development, but it's all the more wonderful because it isn't forced, just allowed to peek out through the craziness that is a day in the life of Torchwood.
