Round Two: Signup Instructions
Happy Saturday, everyone!
At midnight EST tonight, the signup form will go live on AO3 and will remain open until midnight EST on 9/13. Below are the instructions for signing up for round two of TW Holidays. If you have any questions regarding signups or need a code to create an account on AO3, please contact the mods ASAP!
REQUESTS: THE BASICS
+You are required to fill out one (1) request, and you are allowed to fill out a total of two (2). One of these requests MUST be under fandom Teen Wolf (TV); the other should be used for Teen Wolf RPF requests, if you have any, or left blank.
+Your request(s) must include the following information:
FANDOM: must be Teen Wolf (TV) or Teen Wolf RPF, depending on the nature of your request.
CHARACTERS: you may enter up to fifteen (15) characters you would like your writer to focus on.*
RELATIONSHIPS (a.k.a. pairings): you may enter up to fifteen (15) relationships you would like the writer assigned to you to choose from.*
ADDITIONAL TAGS (e.g. Found Family, Angst, Crack, etc.): you may enter up to fifteen (15) additional tags you might like to see in your gift.
CATEGORIES (i.e. m/m, f/f, gen, etc.): you may choose any/all/none of these.
RATINGS: you may choose any/all/none of these.
LETTER TO WRITER: in this field, please leave a link to a LiveJournal or tumblr post where you have written a letter to the person who will be writing for you. In this letter, you should include the following: specific prompts for your writer, a list of things you absolutely would NOT like them to write for you**, and possibly a contact person for your writer to get in touch with should they have questions regarding your likes/dislikes/etc.
DESCRIPTION: you may use this field to specify any plot and/or relationship and/or genre details you would like the writer assigned to you to consider while they write the story. For example, you could use this field to tell them how much you want an AU where Scott and Stiles are jaeger pilots fighting the kaiju, or how awesome it would be if they wrote you a futurefic where Allison and Lydia travel around the world and have adventures together. You can also use this field to specify things you DON'T like to see in stories**.
Recipients, take note! While we are not requiring the writers to follow your requests to the letter, we WILL be looking over all of the submissions for any glaring issues, including blatant disregard of your likes/dislikes, etc. If we find that you have been gifted with something completely contrary to what you requested, we will work with the writer to fix the issue.
*We will be matching writers/recipients based on ONE character and ONE relationship in the request.
**There is no special field to designate squicks and dislikes on the AO3 gift exchange form, unfortunately. In order to avoid your writer including things you dislike or hate, please consider describing these things in detail either in your Letter to Writer post or in the description section of your requests. AUTHORS: if you are ever in doubt about including a certain trope or characterization or side pairing, please feel free to contact any of the mods for advice on how to proceed!
OFFERS: THE BASICS
+You only need to make one (1) offer.
+You will need to fill out most of the information listed above (fandom(s), characters, relationships, additional tags, categories, ratings). This information should cover everything you are willing to write for your recipient and exclude anything you are NOT willing to write.
+As stated previously, there is no place to specify things you will not write. We will do our best to make sure the AO3 system has matched you with someone whose likes/wants are in line with your offer, but we are matching based on a character and/or a relationship and cannot guarantee a perfect match every single time. If you are absolutely unable to write anything that you are assigned based on the request form and the Letter to Writer, contact the mods as soon as possible to discuss your options.
Writers, take note! You are NOT required to fulfill your recipient's requests exactly as they have laid them out, but we do ask that you at least be conscientious of their likes/dislikes and create a story that features the relationship(s) and/or character(s) they requested. If we see that you have ignored this, we will ask you to edit your story. If you refuse to edit your story per our concerns, your story AND the gift written for you will be removed from the collection, and we will ban you from participating in future Teen Wolf Holidays events.
