I just want to the time to say thank you for setting this up. I was just thinking the other week how much I wanted an FQF and/or a Christmas exchange for this fandom.
You have literally made my fandom dreams come true. ^____^
Hi and thank you for organizing this! I'm excited. :D
I do have a question, though: I see on the sign-up form that people can leave 2-3 prompts (and you say in this post "no switching prompts" - I'm actually not sure what that means?) - does that mean we have to write one of the prompts if the giftee includes some?
Another holiday exchange I've participated in also had optional prompts, but with the specification that writers didn't have to conform to them, and could just go with anything from the giftee's "likes" list instead if they didn't find the prompts inspiring. I'm not sure which option you guys are going for here?
Is there a reason the number of prompts is limited, by the way? Wouldn't more prompts increase the likelihood of the writer being inspired by at least one of them? Especially if people have to preferably list at least 3 pairings, I'm a little confused on how to match that up with 2-3 prompts. I might be completely misunderstanding the rules, though. :)
Hi! I just reread that part of the rule, and kind of did a slight facepalm XD. A lot of the rules for this fest was copied and modified from a previous fest I've done where the sign ups were done on LJ and visible to everyone. That's what we meant about switching prompts (as it was possible for participants to peruse through the sign ups and see what everyone else put in). Since the sign ups for this fest isn't open to the public, that rule can be construed as confusing, and for that, we apologize! I'm going to go append and clarify that as soon as I write this comment XD
