On this week's "Best. Gay. Week. Ever!", Michael Jensen reflects on being called "poncy" and shares his personal thoughts on Torchwood old and new, and manages to come out of what was a
hilariously botched interview looking like the goddamn Buddha.
Observe:
On RTD's behavior and being called "poncy":
I'm not upset and I'm certainly not done with Torchwood. I'm a grown-up and a professional writer and being told to stop being "poncy" by Davies will mostly make an amusing anecdote down the road.
On his handling of RTDs snippy answers/attitude:
I was A) mostly shocked and B) trying to keep the whole thing from going off the rails completely. Sitting there trying to figure out how to handle him was not fun.
On the new series:
I'm actually really looking forward to The New World as I'm hearing some pretty amazing stuff from some folks.
Source Be sure to read the whole piece to get his thoughts on TW's new writers, the reasoning behind his decision not to ask about Ianto during the interview, and his parting advice for AfterElton's commenters that are following the news even though they don't intend to watch S4.
Assessment? Jensen is a pretty cool guy. eh gets insulted by RTD for no damn reason and doesn't afraid of anything.
