Translation: I actually liked this interview quite a bit, and I'm sure John Fay is terrific as both a person and a writer, but I don't like being teased with something that is pretty positively not going to happen. It's cheap publicity.
Gwen, having realized that she can only save the world if she makes the most horrible sacrifice, is bravely marching to her death at the hands of... something. Then Ianto pops out from the shadows with his Big Fuckoff Gun, kills the baddie, and our favorite Welsh BFFs are united in a moment of squealing and joy?
THIS! There has been such discord in fandom since COE and interviews like this, no matter how nice the man is, only do more harm. There was no new information in the interview, and I think all John Fay has done here is show how he still DOES NOT GET how COE (with its hopeful, promissory build up and subsequent let down) had a real and hurtful affect on fans. Because he's still doing it! A man who cannot relate or empathise with viewers is not a man whose career I want to support.
