A Soft Spot for Apocalyptic Fuck-Ups by Julad (Exposure challenge)

Feb 07, 2007 19:57

Title: A Soft Spot for Apocalyptic Fuck-Ups
Pairing: Um. How gen is anything with Jack in it? It's Jack and Ianto, but it's not quite Jack/Ianto.
Rating: R-ish? Nothing more adult than the show itself.
Spoilers: Cyberwoman, implied spoilers for other S1 episodes.
Notes: Post-Cyberwoman, 2500 words. Thanks to kaneko, josselin and ukcalico.

Jack is no stranger to dealing with ugly messes, and has a more than passing familiarity with messes this ugly, this loaded, and this personal. )

Thank you! Torchwood has driven me NUTS the last couple of months - I feel like the show is running rings around my attempts to write it. So I'm very happy to hear this worked for you. :)

Oh, Ow.

You don't know me," he says darkly. "You don't know the things I've done." He presses his lips to Ianto's clammy skin. "But you would have destroyed the world to get back something you lost, so you know me better than I thought." Brrrr! Eek! :flail: And yet ♥.

Thanks! It was all about the ending for me. I had those lines in my head and wrote them first, and then had to write the rest of the story to lead up to it.

O god, poor Ianto. (Did they realise that they were creating rabid, Ianto-protective fangirls all over the place with this episode? *g*)

This is a perfectly believable scenario. It almost hurts because it ties in so well with what we have seen. Loved it!

Funnily enough, I wasn't a fan of Ianto until Countrycide. It was the head butt that did it for me. *g* And thank you very much - I have been obsessed with the puzzle that is Jack and Ianto since the stopwatch, and I kept writing stories where the pieces didn't end up fitting right. I'm so relieved that this one worked for you -- it was the first to finally work for me.

LOL, that head butt was great. I think with Ianto it's the right mixture between awkward and ballsy that appeals. (Along that line, another great moment was the "I was aiming at your shoulder" comment. Classic Ianto. *g*)
