So I have had this story idea for a few weeks now ( careful its loooooooong!) but in no way I have time to write it.(Also I haven't written in the Torchwood fandom yet, I´d rather start with a smaller story then) Sadly the characters wont shut up and so I thought I´d post it here. So if you want to take this story or just elements of it, be my guest.
Set after Miracle Day.. I´m trying to keep this short although I already have ideas for whole scenes etc…
The story starts with Gwen, Rhys and Jack running after a guy who has taken Anwen. He threatens to throw Anwen out of a window if they don’t do what he wants. It comes to that and under Gwens scream their realize that Anwen seems to be hovering into the house again. It turns out to be Owen, who like Eugene in the series, has been a ghost the whole time. He has been following the others since Exit Wounds, trying to make himself corporeal and getting himself heard, to no avail. He manages to give Anwen to Jack and blinks out of existence again. Jack then shoots then bad guy and they call out for Owen, but he seems gone.
Only then they realize they are being watched. It turns out to be a native American who gives them a device which makes Owen visible and hearable again. And he tells them that there is a prophecy about them and that's is why here is there watching them.
In the prophecy Jack & Gwen not only will be united with Owen, but with Tosh and Ianto as well. He talks about the eternal life ( Jack) who will be reunited with the heart (Gwen) the eternal death ( Owen, not really thrilled about that nickname ;-) ), the mind ( Tosh) and the Carer ( Ianto) to form a group of knights who protect the earth and the universe. ( Later when he reveals the name Jack realizes he actually heard about the knights in the future- but so far he remains silent) The thing is, for the other to be brought back, they have to be bound together body and soul and sexually as well. The have to perform a ritual with alien devices and after a few doubts they do it. It brings the others back in flesh Its Jack energy which binds them together and Owens which protects them from dieing again but that doesn't make them invincible, they can still die, just recover a bit better than normal humans.
Gwen:Gwen of course also has Rhys and Anwen to think about. While she is happy that everyone is back and while she cant deny feelings developing or already had them ( Jack, Owen to an extent) she is also afraid of losing Rhys and afraid of being a bad mum to her girl.
Rhys: he is of course not thrilled about all this, but on the other end he sees Gwen happy again for the first time after the deaths of the team. Also he is thankful that Owen saved Anwen. The native American - the guide they call him now - reveals to him that he is in the prophecy as well.. as the holder of the heart. Its up to him as well that the prophecy will be fulfilled and he will become the guide of the group, anchoring them when the other guide dies. (which actually happens rather soon much to teams and his dismay) Through things like the appearance of Owens mum and various other little catastrophies he learns to care for the others as well. And of course continues to love Gwen.
Tosh: Tosh is a bit overwhelmed by everything. She clearly loves the others but has to take a while to get used to the closeness. When UNIT become aware that she is still alive they think she fled and they want to deport her to prison again. Of course Jack and the team wont have that.
Ianto: Ianto is glad to be back and manages to surprise himself how easy it is for him to find his place in the group. He feels cared for by others ( even if they grumble) and whole for the first time in his life, realizing that even in the happy relationship with Jack he missed something which is now there. He even manages to reconcile with his sister who takes the coming back to life thing rather well after a short shock. Its also revealed that he and Owen shared a bed for one night when Jack was gone, never talking about it again and that he kissed Tosh once while he was drunk, showing that he is a person who loves more than one person and is happy with that. He and to a certain extent Gwen manage to hold the group together when they are in danger of falling apart.
Owen: Owen is still, well.. Owen. Lots of sex? Being alive and able to drink etc again? Great! Allowing feelings for the others and not running away when it happens? Not so much. It takes a while until he comes to terms with that- though he already had feelings for all of them ( see the night with Ianto, the affair with Gwen and Tosh before their deaths, hell even the way he allowed Jack- his boss- to touch him). Also he has seen a lot while being a ghost and not being able to help left a little crack. Ianto for example reveals to the others that Owen was there when he died through the 456. He was shouting and kicking at the Aliens which he couldn't touch after Ianto died and Ianto actually kissed him to calm him down. They got say goodbye for a few mins then Ianto vanished wherever normal people go after dying, leaving Owen alone again. He continued to follow Jack and Gwen around and saw Gwen caring for her dad and Jack with Steven etc.
Owens mum appears one day when he walks over the plass and she shouts at him and degrades him like she did when he was a child until Rhys, Anwen and Gwens mum come to his rescue and get the others. Its send him onto one of drinking tours again and its actually Rhys who finds him and gets him back to the new hub where the others take care of him.
Jack: Jack is happy that he finally can show the feelings he had for this team all along. But he also is afraid of what they will do when they get to know him fully and so he continues to keep his secrets. One night he has a nightmare and shouts out in the dream for Owen to kill him. When the others hear this they are furious with Owen and Jack reluctantly tells them that in the year that never was, Owen was brought to him. The Marster told the Dr. to kill him so that he would live, but Owen couldn't, still remembering Abbadon and wouldn't since he knew the Marster would kill him anyway. Jack begged him to, as he´d already had seen the others of the Team killed by the Toclafone but to no avail. He was tortured and killed on front of Jacks eyes- which resulted in him not being able to let Owen go in Season 2 and actually setting this whole prophecy in motion. He also still carries the guild for the death of Steven and the children of the 456 and the others help him with that .
Of course there is also the normal Torchwood life that the team has to battle with Aliens and Wevils and the like but I hope you sorta get the main idea of the story/ this universe.
So if you read until here you deserve an Oscar for that alone. *gives Oscar * I tried to make it short but if anyone want ideas for scenes I have had just shout! ;-)
