Victory Dance
The first time he went back to the Valiant, he saved him. It was the expected thing, so he went back again and shot him. The next time he returned, he let history take her course. The fourth time, he realized he’d run out of things to do and left before the clock ran down. On his fifth and final trip, he strode through the halls, ignoring the officers’ stares and the Joneses’ calls. He walked past the Master and brushed by Mrs. Saxon. He announced, “I’m dying,” and put on track three.
The Master smiled and together, they celebrated.
