Sniffing the air, head tilted listening for any sounds, Derek locked in on his prey, .
Quietly, he stalked forward, like he learned at his grandfather's knee. Most people walked heel to toe, but adjusting his body weight to land on the ball of his foot, allowed him to keep silent in his slow chase.
