Captain John Hart help
Mkay, so, I'm working on a few cosplays for Hurricane Who. The one I want to do for Halloween (and the costume contest) is fem!John Hart. There are two things I'm having trouble with: finding boots even somewhat similar to his, and the jacket.
So, for the boots, I'm scouring the internet. I need cheap, though, because I'm a student with no money and no job (although I will have a job and some--but not much--money come August-ish). It's proving... Difficult. I'm an 8.5, but I can wear up to a 10 if they're flat. I have two that I'm kinda looking at thus far:

To be honest, it'd be kinda nice to have a pair I can use for other cosplays (i.e. a fem!Jack one), but it's not very essential. Are either of these close, or does anyone have links to better boots?
The jacket is a trouble. I'm pretty sure I'll have to make it, which I'm okay with, but I'm seriously stuck between a rock and a hard place, because... On one hand, I am a perfectionist with very close attention to detail, but on the other hand, I can be lazy. I can't decide if I should take the hours and hours of labour that would be hand-stitching on the round cord, or hot-gluing it. Although if someone has a jacket, I would buy it if it weren't too expensive. I'm kinda lazy like that.
