Slightly OT: "Classic" fans of Classic TW
I've noticed a whole lot of "I'm old" commentary in threads here this week. I'm genuinely curious what the age span is in this fandom. I freely admit that I am an old fart. I got on the Intertubes full back in 1988, when, to be honest, my access was insanely limited and mostly via Bitnet Relay Chat (I first stuck my toe in the water in 1986 by doign research for a paper on CompuServe). But allowing someone's writing to guide my guess of age can be very dangerous. There's fans here who are in college but make me look like an oblivious moron with their insightful writing. And there's oldsters who are having their blissful second childhood.
Although I've made a poll to keep it fun, I'll give my precise age to take away the sting. I'm just about to turn the same number as the Ultimate Answer to Life, the Universe, and Everything.
(For you heathens who haven't read "Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy," that means I'm currently 41).
